The Embassy of Israel has facilitated the return of personal belongings of Nepali victims of the October 7, 2023, Hamas attack, as well as other Nepali students who were part of the ‘Learn and Earn Programme’ in Israel.
According to a statement by the Embassy, the belongings were handed over to their rightful owners during a program held today at the Embassy in Kathmandu.
Ambassador Shmulik Arie Bass personally worked to bring the belongings back to Nepal. During the handover, he met with Dhan Bahadur Chaudhary, a survivor of the attack, along with six other students and families of the victims.
The Embassy reaffirmed Israel’s unwavering solidarity with the affected Nepali families and expressed its hope for the swift release of Bipin Joshi, a Nepali national who remains a hostage held by Hamas.
The return of these belongings serves as a gesture of compassion and support for the families as they continue to recover from the tragedy.
