PM Advocates Digital Literacy Curriculum for Schools

In a address during the ‘Impact of Modern Information Technology on National Security’ interaction programme, Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ emphasized the urgent need for a digital literacy-oriented curriculum at school levels. The event, organized by the National Security Council, took place at Singhadurbar on Friday, and saw the Prime Minister highlighting the importance of technology education in today’s age of Information Communication and Technology (ICT).

During his speech, PM Prachanda stressed that equipping students with digital literacy skills from a young age is crucial, considering the national requirements and the rapid advancements in information technology. He emphasized that the curriculum should not only focus on acquiring technology-friendly knowledge but also educate students on the responsible and secure use of technology to prevent potential risks and misuse.

“With the ever-increasing reliance on information technology in our society, it is essential to ensure that our younger generations are well-versed in digital literacy,” the Prime Minister asserted, underlining the significance of staying ahead in the digital era.
