PM Dahal Alleges Conspiracy Against Nepal’s Progress; Accuses Oli of Dual Role

Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has said that there is a serious conspiracy to push the country backwards.

During a Maoist Center officials’ meeting at the Prime Minister’s residence in Baluwatar on Tuesday, he accused the Nepali Congress and UML of attempting to push the country into a dire situation, which he vowed to vehemently oppose.

“The Constitution itself is being threatened with derailment. Following the opening of corruption cases, there was panic within the Congress-UML. The advancements achieved through the Maoist People’s War, federalism, inclusive participation are now under threat, and there’s a conspiracy to roll back these gains by undermining the Constitution. This trend must be vehemently opposed,” Deputy Secretary General Haribol Gajurel quoted Prachanda as saying.

During the meeting, Prachanda criticized UML Chairman KP Oli for playing a dual role.

Gajurel noted that despite Prachanda’s earlier statement that he wouldn’t resign during his meeting with Oli, he indicated he would seek a vote of confidence in parliament. Following a new power dynamic established by Congress and UML on Monday night, Prachanda called an emergency meeting of officials.
