PM Dahal Stresses Fiscal Decentralization, Project Prioritization
Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’, also the Chairmanof CPN (Maoist Centre), reiterated the federal government’s stance on project handling during a parliamentary party meeting held at Singha Durbar this morning.
PM Dahal emphasized the decentralization of fiscal responsibilities, stating that projects worth less than Rs 30 million would be managed by province and local levels. He highlighted the importance of strengthening federalism through fiscal handover, with the federal government retaining projects of strategic significance.
Furthermore, PM Dahal underscored the need to streamline budget allocation, cautioning against the accumulation of funds in non-essential areas while essential projects face budgetary constraints. He assured that the government would take necessary measures to complete ongoing projects efficiently.
Regarding the Balkumari incident, PM Dahal informed that he has received a report and is currently studying it. He assured that appropriate action would be taken based on the findings of the report, reiterating the government’s commitment to transparency and accountability.
PM Dahal urged lawmakers to cooperate in passing bills, indicating that the government would table them in the parliament following the next cabinet meeting. He emphasized the importance of legislative support in advancing the government’s agenda.
