PM KP Sharma Oli Concludes Official Visit to China, Returning Home Today
Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli is set to return to Kathmandu today after completing a four-day official visit to the People’s Republic of China. The visit, which commenced on December 2, was undertaken at the friendly invitation of Chinese Premier Li Qiang.
During his stay in Beijing, Prime Minister Oli engaged in high-level discussions with Chinese President Xi Jinping and Premier Li Qiang. These talks culminated in the signing of several agreements, including a pivotal framework agreement on Belt and Road Cooperation, further solidifying bilateral ties between Nepal and China.
A highlight of the visit was Prime Minister Oli’s keynote address at Peking University under the theme Comprehensive Democracy: A Journey Towards ‘Prosperous Nepal, Happy Nepali.’ He also spoke at the Nepal-China Business Summit, emphasizing enhanced economic collaboration and investment opportunities between the two nations.
The Nepali delegation, accompanying the Prime Minister, included prominent figures such as his spouse Radhika Shakya, Foreign Minister Dr. Arzu Rana Deuba, Chief Advisor Bishnu Prasad Rimal, Economic and Development Advisor Dr. Yubaraj Khatiwada, parliament members, senior government officials, private sector representatives, and media personnel.
Prime Minister Oli and his delegation are expected to arrive in Kathmandu this afternoon, concluding a visit that is anticipated to bolster Nepal-China relations across political, economic, and cultural domains.
