PM Modi Concludes UAE Visit, Pledges Continued Collaboration for Global Good
Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi wrapped up his official visit to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) on a positive note, expressing his commitment to ongoing collaboration between India and the UAE for the betterment of the global community. PM Modi shared a video on Twitter showcasing the highlights of his trip, emphasizing the shared goals and accomplishments achieved during his time in the Gulf nation.
During his visit, PM Modi attended important events in the UAE, engaging in extensive discussions with the President of the UAE, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan. Foreign Secretary Vinay Mohan Kwatra described the visit as a significant landmark in the partnership between India and the UAE, highlighting the deep bond of friendship and trust shared between PM Modi and the UAE President.
The Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) signed between India and the UAE last year has played a pivotal role in fostering trade and economic partnership between the two nations. The visit further solidified this strategic economic partnership and explored opportunities for expanding similar collaborations with other countries in the region and beyond.
PM Modi was warmly received by Sheikh Khaled Bin Mohamed Bin Zayed, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, upon his arrival in the UAE. During his visit, the Prime Minister also met with Sheikh Khaled bin Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, and engaged in discussions with COP28 President-designate, Sultan bin Ahmed Al Jaber, covering a wide range of issues.
Expressing India’s support for the UAE’s COP28 Presidency, PM Modi assured continued cooperation in addressing global challenges. The Indian Prime Minister was accorded a grand welcome in the UAE, with the iconic Burj Khalifa illuminated with the colors of the Indian flag in a spectacular light-and-sound show.
Prior to his UAE visit, PM Modi concluded a two-day official visit to France, which he described as memorable. He participated as the Guest of Honour in the Bastille Day celebrations, marking the 25th anniversary of the India-France Strategic Partnership. A contingent of 241 members from the Indian armed forces, led by a military band, participated in the Parade, showcasing the strong ties between the two nations.
The back-to-back visits to France and the UAE underline India’s commitment to strengthening global relationships and engaging in collaborative efforts for the greater good. PM Modi expressed his gratitude to French President Emmanuel Macron and the people of France for their warm hospitality.
These visits have not only furthered strategic partnerships but have also opened new avenues for future collaborations, enabling India to explore similar partnerships with countries in the region and beyond. The engagements and discussions during PM Modi’s visits are expected to lay the groundwork for enhanced cooperation in various fields, including trade, defense, and climate change.
