PM Oli Meets USAID Administrator Samantha Power on Sidelines of UNGA in New York
Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli, currently leading the Nepali delegation at the 79th Session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) in New York, held a meeting with U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) Administrator Samantha Power on Tuesday. The discussions took place at the office of the Permanent Mission of Nepal to the UN.
During the meeting, PM Oli was accompanied by his chief advisor Bishnu Prasad Rimal and Nepal’s permanent representative to the UN, Lok Bahadur Thapa, among other officials. The meeting focused on strengthening development cooperation between Nepal and the United States, with a focus on continued USAID support for Nepal’s socio-economic development initiatives.
Busy Day of Diplomatic Engagements
Earlier on Tuesday, PM Oli attended a reception hosted by UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres at the UN headquarters, where leaders from around the world gathered ahead of the assembly’s key sessions.
Additionally, PM Oli participated in the UNGA session, where he listened to speeches delivered by leaders of major global powers, furthering his efforts to enhance Nepal’s diplomatic ties and engagement on the international stage.
