Political Unrest Rocks Jeetpur Simara, Budget Announcement Adjourned

Tensions erupted today at the municipal assembly of Jeetpur Simra sub-metropolitan city as protests led by ward chairs from the CPN-UML turned violent, forcing an abrupt adjournment of the session. What was supposed to be a routine budget announcement day turned into chaos as elected officials clashed inside the city hall.

Mayor Rajan Paudel faced fierce opposition as he attempted to begin the assembly session. Members of the CPN-UML, joined by some from the Congress party, staged a protest against what they termed as unfair budget allocations. The protest quickly escalated into vandalism, with furniture and equipment within the assembly hall being damaged amidst the turmoil.

Prominent among the dissenting ward chairs were Dhan Bahadur Shrestha from Ward No. 2, Haridev Kharel from Ward No. 16, Kaiyudin Ansari from Ward No. 6, and Sunil Gupta from Ward No. 7. Their actions resulted in the suspension of the assembly session, with authorities struggling to restore order and assess the extent of the damage caused.
