Power supply stopped at some local levels in Banke
Power supply has been stopped at some local levels in Banke district after electric poles fell due to storm on Wednesday night.
Chief of Nepal Electricity Authority Nepalgunj Distribution Centre, Jagannath Lamichhane, shared that power supply has been disrupted at Duduwa, Raptisonari and Narainapur as well as other places of the district.
A total of 31 electric poles—nine electric poles at Kohalpur, nine at Duduwa, eight at Khajura and five at Raptisonari have fallen. He mentioned it would few hours to resume power supply as efforts are underway to remove fallen trees and replacing the fallen poles.
Meanwhile, Mina Khatun of Kohalpur-14 died after being crushed by a wall, said Deputy Superintendent of Police at the District Police Office, Banke, Narayan Dangi. The wall had fallen due to storm.
Similarly, 34 houses were destroyed by fire at Duduwa rural municipality-1 in the district due to windstorm, said police.
