President Convenes All-Party Meetings on Tuesday to Address Parliamentary Deadlock

In a significant move to resolve the ongoing parliamentary deadlock, President Ram Chandra Paudel has called for an all-party meeting scheduled for 8:30 am next Tuesday. This initiative marks the first time President Paudel has convened an all-party gathering since assuming office.

Kiran Pokhrel, the press advisor to President Paudel, confirmed to Rastriya Samachar Samiti (RSS) that the President has extended invitations to all political parties to convene at his office on the aforementioned date. The primary objective of the meeting is to facilitate discussions among the various political parties represented in the parliament and find a viable solution to the impasse.

The major opposition party, CPN UML, has been consistently disrupting parliamentary proceedings, demanding the formation of a high-level probe committee to investigate the gold smuggling scandal. This obstruction has prompted the President to take proactive steps towards reconciliation and fostering a conducive environment for legislative progress.

Before announcing the all-party meeting, President Paudel had previously engaged in discussions with the top leaders of major political parties at his official residence. As Nepal strives to navigate its political challenges and chart a path forward, the upcoming all-party meeting holds the potential to pave the way for constructive dialogue and collaborative solutions.
