President Paudel Receives National Security Council’s Annual Report

Today, Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’, also serving as the Chair of the National Security Council, visited President Ramchandra Paudel to present the Council’s annual report.

President Paudel, upon receiving the report, emphasized the importance of the Council’s cautious approach in safeguarding the nation’s interests, including its sovereignty, independence, integrity, and security. During the meeting, President Paudel stressed the need to bolster the country’s independence, sovereignty, territorial integrity, and autonomy. He also highlighted the significance of fostering cultural, religious, linguistic, and communal harmony, promoting social tolerance and unity, and strengthening the national social security system. Additionally, he emphasized the imperative of effectively implementing the national security policy.

President Paudel commended the Council for its strategic outlook presented in the report, focusing on matters pertaining to nationality, sovereignty, integrity, and security. As per Article 266(3) of the Constitution, the Council is obligated to submit its annual report to the President.

Key attendees at the meeting included Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Defense Purna Bahadur Khadka, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Home Affairs Narayan Kaji Shrestha, and Finance Minister Dr. Prakash Sharan Mahat.
