President Ramchandra Paudel Observes 205th Ranaujireshwori Bhagawati Chariot Procession in Tansen
President Ramchandra Paudel, accompanied by First Lady Sabita Paudel, observed the 205th edition of the historic Ranaujireshwori Bhagawati chariot procession in Tansen, Palpa today. This marks the first time President Paudel has attended the event as the Head of State.
Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation, Badri Prasad Pandey, and Defence Minister, Manbir Rai, also joined the President in Palpa to participate in the chariot procession. Along with observing the procession, President Paudel performed puja and paid homage at the Ranaujireshwori Bhagawati Temple.
Following the religious ceremony, the President visited the Nepali Army’s ‘The Famous Mahindra Dal Battalion’ and met with officials, including elected representatives of Palpa, according to Kiran Pokharel, the President’s press advisor.
On the occasion, President Paudel extended his wishes for happiness, peace, and well-being to all Nepalis. He also urged the concerned bodies to implement the Department of Archaeology’s recommendations to reconstruct the Ranaujireshwori Bhagawati Temple in its original architectural style. Additionally, he emphasized the need to develop the entire Palpa Palace, including the museum, into a tourist destination and to work towards having it enlisted as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
The President also expressed confidence that the government’s preparation to declare the Ranaujireshwori Bhagawati chariot procession as a national festival through a provincial decision would soon be realized.
