Prime Minister Prachanda Visits Sheetal Niwas, Why?

Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’, made a significant visit to the Office of the President, Sheetal Niwas, today. The purpose of his visit was pivotal, aimed at updating President Ram Chandra Poudel on the latest political developments unfolding in Nepal.

Just last night, Nepal’s two major political parties, the Nepali Congress and the CPN-UML, reached a critical agreement. They have jointly pledged to collaborate in forming a new government that reflects a national consensus. This coalition government is set to operate under the joint leadership of both parties, marking a strategic move towards political stability amidst ongoing challenges.

The Prime Minister’s office has clarified that his visit to Sheetal Niwas also included an assurance to President Poudel. Prime Minister Prachanda conveyed his commitment to adhere to constitutional protocols in the event of any withdrawal of support from coalition partners. Specifically, he affirmed that he would not resign immediately but would instead opt to seek a vote of confidence within the constitutionally mandated 30-day period following any withdrawal of coalition support.
