Rabindra Mishra Claims Secret Pact between NC and Maoists for ‘Hindu Nation’ Declaration

Rabindra Mishra, the Senior Vice Chairperson of the Rashtriya Prajatantra Party (RPP), claimed today that the Nepali Congress (NC) and CPN Maoist Centre have clandestinely agreed to declare Nepal a ‘Hindu Nation.’ Mishra made this assertion in a detailed statement shared on X (formerly Twitter) earlier today.

“Especially, Congress and Maoists have internally agreed to declare Nepal a ‘Hindu nation’ after securing a two-thirds majority in parliament,” Mishra wrote. “There will be a proposal from the Nepali Congress.”

The RPP leader alleged that the Maoists might feign opposition or maintain silence on the matter. Targeting the CPN-UML, Mishra mentioned that even those who call themselves ‘prominent pioneers’ will not oppose it.

According to Mishra, there is a strong possibility that major political parties would incite pro-monarchy agitators, creating a tumultuous situation and aiming to guide it toward a middle-of-the-road compromise.

Despite these claims, Mishra expressed his belief that a Hindu nation without a monarchy is not in the long-term interest of Nepal.

“You can write down that a Hindu nation without a monarchy will be fatal not only for our religion, culture, and civilization but also for the long-term interests of Nepal as a whole,” he emphasized.

In a stark warning, Mishra asserted that the issue of monarchy will be overshadowed and long-term peace and stability of Nepal will be impossible.

“So don’t compromise on Hindu dominion. Don’t say only Hindu nation,” he urged. “A Hindu nation is also possible in a Hindu republic.” Mishra clarified that he did not advocate for a “Hindu republic” but rather sought a “Hindu dominion” with the presence of a monarchy.
