The Karnali Academy of Health Sciences (KAHS) has approved a plan to establish a 50-bed satellite hospital in Rakam Karnali, Aathabis Municipality, Dailekh. The decision was made during the 11th senate meeting of KAHS, held at the Office of the Prime Minister in Baluwatar.
The meeting endorsed the implementation of the government’s decision to upgrade the existing 15-bed hospital to a 50-bed facility. To facilitate this transition, KAHS will submit proposals to the government and other stakeholders for infrastructure development, human resource management, and financial support.
Prime Minister and KAHS Chancellor KP Sharma Oli instructed KAHS authorities to expedite the process through consultation and cooperation with relevant stakeholders. He assured that the government would provide maximum support to ensure accessible healthcare services for the people of Rakam Karnali.
The meeting also saw the appointment of new KAHS Senate Members. Attendees included Health Minister Pradip Paudel, National Planning Commission Member Dr. RP Bichchha, KAHS Vice Chancellor Dr. Mangal Rawal, and other officials.
