RPP to Vote Against PM Dahal in Floor Test
The Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) has announced its decision to oppose Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal in the upcoming floor test scheduled for Friday. Dahal, seeking a vote of confidence in the House of Representatives, faces mounting opposition following the recent coalition shift.
In a parliamentary party meeting convened at Singha Durbar on Thursday, spokesperson Gyanendra Bahadur Shahi confirmed the RPP’s stance against the motion of confidence proposed by Prime Minister Dahal. The decision comes in the wake of Dahal’s government losing majority support after an alliance between the Nepali Congress (NC) and the CPN-UML was forged last week to form a new government.
The RPP, an early supporter of the NC-CPN-UML coalition agreement, joins other parties in challenging Dahal’s leadership. This marks the fifth instance since assuming office on December 26, 2022, that Dahal faces a crucial floor test amidst political turbulence.
