SEBON Executive Director Emphasizes Stock Market’s Role in Economic Growth

Nabaraj Adhikari, the Executive Director of the Securities Board of Nepal (SEBON), highlighted the crucial role of the stock market in supporting the country’s economic growth and reiterated SEBON’s commitment to protecting investors’ interests. He made these remarks during the 12th anniversary ceremony of NIMB Ace Capital Limited on Thursday.

Adhikari emphasized SEBON’s efforts to address the concerns of fiscal management companies, while also regulating and managing the activities related to securities and those involved in the sector.

“The monetary policy unveiled by the central bank last week aims to make the stock market vibrant,” Adhikari noted, appreciating the removal of the Rs 200 million cap on institutional share traders.

Former Chief Secretary Bimal Koirala, who also spoke at the event, stressed the need for a secure and reliable stock trading system to foster investor confidence and market stability.
