Shree Airlines Flight Diverted Back to Kathmandu Due to Technical Issue
A Shree Airlines flight en route to Surkhet from Kathmandu was diverted back to the capital shortly after takeoff due to a technical issue. The plane’s indicator signaled a problem just minutes into the flight, according to Rinji Sherpa, the Spokesman for Kathmandu Airport.
Sherpa clarified that the situation did not require an emergency landing but rather a precautionary diversion. “The aircraft, which had taken off for Surkhet, was redirected to Kathmandu Airport after flying 30 nautical miles. The diversion was due to the aircraft’s wheel steering locking. Other flights from the airport are operating regularly now,” he said.
Shree Airlines manager Anil Manandhar confirmed that passengers on the affected flight were subsequently flown to their destination on an alternative aircraft.
