Socialist Front Announces Nationwide Meetings in All Seven Provinces
The Socialist Front, a coalition of four prominent political parties, has declared its intention to hold a series of meetings across all seven provinces, starting from August 25.
In a meeting held earlier today at the central office of the CPN (Unified Socialist) Party in Baneshwar, leaders of the Socialist Front discussed and finalized the plan to conduct gatherings in every province. CPN (US) vice president, Pramesh Hamal, confirmed the decision and highlighted the significance of these meetings.
The first meeting is scheduled to take place in Birganj of the Madhes province on August 25. Subsequent gatherings are planned for Butwal in Lumbini province on August 29, Dhangadhi in Sudurpaschim province on August 30, Surkhet in Karnali province on August 31, Pokhara in Gandaki province on September 1, Hetauda in Bagmati province on September 9, and Biratnagar in Koshi province on September 11.
Hamal elaborated that the provincial meetings would pave the way for the formation of the provincial fronts, thereby solidifying the unity among these parties on a regional level. The leaders also evaluated the performance of the current government, discussed ongoing political developments, and explored strategies to garner support for the government’s recently launched anti-corruption campaign.
The Socialist Front comprises four key political entities: CPN (Maoist Centre), Janata Samajbadi Party, CPN (Unified Socialist), and the faction led by Biplav within the CPN. This collaboration aims to foster greater cohesion and cooperation among the left-leaning parties, ultimately shaping the nation’s political landscape in the months to come.
