South Koreans are willing to invest in Nepal, Ambassador Park says

Minister for Industry, Commerce, and Supplies, Damodar Bhandari, and Ambassador of South Korea to Nepal, Park Tae-young, discussed various aspects of Nepal-Korea relations at a meeting held at the Ministry on Tuesday.

During the meeting, Minister Bhandari stated that Nepal was eager to benefit from South Korean experiences, skills, and technology in agriculture, industry, and hydropower development, adding that South Korea is a vital and trustworthy development partner for Nepal’s socioeconomic development.

Likewise, Minister Bhandari sought support from South Korea in Nepal’s energy sector development, manufacturing sector, and other areas, stating that an investment-friendly environment has been created in Nepal in recent times.

Minister Bhandari also urged the Korean Ambassador to ensure significant participation of the Korean government and private sector in the Third Investment Summit scheduled to take place from April 28-29 in Kathmandu.

During the occasion, the Korean Ambassador mentioned that Korean investors have expressed their desire to invest in Nepal and urged the minister to identify the areas of investment in Nepal.

Similarly, the Korean Ambassador expressed readiness on behalf of the South Korean government to help create jobs in Nepal through the operation of medium-scale enterprises.

He also appreciated Nepal’s venture for ‘Made in Nepal’ and added that Korean people are highly influenced by this scheme while expressing commitment to import Nepali goods.
