Stocks Surge: Nepse Soars 8.26 Points, Ends Day at 1,974.50
Nepal Stock Exchange (Nepse) had a good start to the week on Sunday. The index went up by 8.26 points and closed at 1,974.50 points. Initially, it dropped a bit but then recovered, reaching a high of 1,981.69 points during the day. By the end of the session, it was up by 0.42%.
On this positive day, 127 companies saw their share prices rise, while 11 saw a decline, and 7 remained the same. Shangrila Development Bank Ltd saw the most trading activity, with shares worth Rs 105.06 million changing hands. Pokhara Finance Ltd and Sonapur Minerals and Oil Ltd followed with turnovers of Rs 80.69 million and Rs 80.57 million, respectively.
Looking at different sectors, three sub-indices faced losses while the other ten gained. The Hotels & Tourism sector saw the biggest drop of 2.5%, while the Non-life Insurance sector gained the most, going up by 2.64%.
Overall, there were 49,764 transactions on Sunday, with shares worth Rs 3.15 billion being traded on the exchange.
