Thailand Clinches Women’s T20I Tri-Series Title with Dominant Win Over Nepal

Thailand secured the Women’s T20 International Tri-Series title with a convincing seven-wicket victory over Nepal in the final match held at the Tribhuvan University Cricket Ground in Kirtipur today.

Thailand dominated the tournament, winning five out of six matches and finishing at the top with 10 points. The Netherlands secured second place with eight points, while Nepal remained winless, losing all six of its matches.

In the final, Nepal, after winning the toss, opted to bat first and set a target of 82 runs, scoring 81/7 in 20 overs. Samjhana Khadka top-scored with 17 runs, followed by *Kabita Joshi (14), Rajmati Airee (11), and Captain Indu Barma (10).

Thailand’s bowlers put up an impressive performance, with Onnicha Kamchomphu claiming three wickets, while Chanida Sutthiruang, Nattaya Boochatham, and Suleeporn Laomi took one wicket each.

In response, Thailand comfortably chased the target in 17 overs, losing only three wickets. Captain Naruemol Chaiwai led from the front with 27 runs*, supported by Nannapat Koncharoenkai (23) and Nattaya Boochatham (11).

For Nepal, Captain Barma took two wickets, while Puja Mahato claimed one. However, Nepal’s struggles throughout the series left them without a single victory, highlighting the need for improvement in future competitions.
