Top Leaders to Meet Today to Finalize ToR for Cooperative Fund Embezzlement Probe
The top leaders of major political parties are scheduled to meet today to finalize the terms of reference (ToR) for the parliamentary probe committee intended to investigate issues related to the embezzlement of cooperative funds.
This high-level meeting comes after a taskforce meeting held on Saturday failed to make significant progress. Joint General Secretary of the Nepali Congress, Jeevan Pariyar, confirmed that a consensus was reached to reconvene today to iron out the remaining details.
Following the taskforce meeting, top leaders and taskforce members engaged in discussions to address the unresolved issues. Key figures present at the meeting included Prime Minister and CPN (Maoist Centre) Chairperson Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’, CPN-UML Chairperson KP Sharma Oli, and Nepali Congress Vice-President Purna Bahadur Khadka, among others.
The finalization of the ToR is crucial for moving forward with the investigation into the cooperative fund embezzlement, which has been a pressing issue within the country. The formation of the parliamentary probe committee is seen as a vital step in addressing the concerns and ensuring accountability.
