Tragedy Strikes Nepali Citizens in Portugal: One Dead, Another Missing

A Nepali citizen has lost his life due to drowning while another remains missing after an incident in Portugal. The unfortunate incident unfolded at Montijo, near Lisbon, during the night of April 6.

The deceased has been identified as 30-year-old Dhana Bahadur Tamang, hailing from Katunje, Netrawati Dabajong Rural Municipality-5, Dhading district, Nepal.

Accompanying Dhana Bahadur was 38-year-old Tek Bahadur Tamang, also from the same locality. Both individuals were engaged in the search for seafood in the waters off Montijo when tragedy struck, as reported by Gopal Yonjan, President of the Tamang Society Portugal.

Despite rescue efforts, Dhana Bahadur’s lifeless body was recovered on April 7. However, Tek Bahadur remains missing, leaving his fate uncertain amidst the sorrow and concern of his loved ones.
