Tragic School Bus Accident Claims Three Lives and Leaves Dozens Injured in Udayapur
In a devastating incident, three individuals lost their lives, and 39 others sustained injuries when a school bus plunged into a ravine at Andheri village in Udayapurgadhi Rural Municipality-7, Udayapur district, on Saturday.
The ill-fated bus was transporting students from Annapurna School, located in Triyuga Municipality-5. The group was returning from a picnic when the tragic accident occurred in the afternoon.
The District Police Office, Udayapur, identified the deceased as 40-year-old bus driver Bhikhan Chaudhary, 7-year-old Sandhya Chaudhary, and 6-year-old Bikash Chaudhary.
Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Hari Nandan Chaudhary provided details about the ongoing response, stating that the injured individuals are currently receiving medical attention at the District Hospital, Udayapur. Additionally, five critically injured students have been urgently transported to Biratnagar for advanced medical treatment.
The entire community is grappling with shock and sorrow as the incident unfolded during what was supposed to be a joyous return from a school outing. Authorities are conducting investigations to determine the cause of the accident.
