Two Buses with 65 Passengers Missing in Trishuli River
In a tragic incident early this morning, two buses carrying a total of 65 passengers went missing in the Trishuli River following landslides at the Simaltal area along the Narayanghat-Mugling road section in Chitwan district, officials confirmed.
Chief District Officer of Chitwan, Indra Dev Yadav, reported that the two vehicles plunged into the river at around 3:30 AM. According to Yadav, a Ganapati Deluxe bus heading to Gaur of Rautahat from Kathmandu was carrying 41 passengers, while another bus en route to Kathmandu from Birgunj had 24 passengers on board.
Rescue operations have commenced at the site, with workers striving to clear the landslides and locate the missing buses. Chief District Officer Yadav, who is present at the scene, stated that more details regarding the accident are awaited.
