Two Children Killed, Two Injured in Grenade Explosion in Panchthar

Tragedy struck in Panchthar district as two children from the same family lost their lives, and two others were injured following a grenade explosion in Falelung Rural Municipality, Dandagaon. The incident occurred on Thursday afternoon in the courtyard of local resident Aitaraj Kerung.

According to the District Police Office Panchthar, the explosion affected four children. The deceased have been identified as 2-year-old Prinsa and 11-year-old Dipshan, both children of Dilip Sanwa. They were en route to B&C Hospital in Jhapa for treatment but sadly passed away last night.

The injured, Paban Rai and Dipshan Rai, sons of Gyan Bahadur Rai, were initially treated at the District Hospital Panchthar before being transferred to B&C Hospital for further care.

Police suspect the explosion was caused by a homemade grenade, though official confirmation is still pending.
