UML Chief Whip Accuses Nepali Congress of Plotting Government Overthrow
In a recent development at the Federal Parliament building, CPN-UML Chief Whip Mahesh Kumar Bartaula made startling accusations against the main opposition party, Nepali Congress (NC), alleging a conspiracy to overthrow the current government. Bartaula specifically pointed fingers at the NC’s targeting of Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister Rabi Lamichhane as a strategic move in their purported plan.
Addressing journalists on Sunday, Bartaula claimed that the NC had expressed its intention to bring down the government within a tight timeframe of 28 days. He underscored the NC’s alleged agenda by emphasizing their focus on attacking Home Minister Lamichhane.
Furthermore, Bartaula highlighted the urgency for action against individuals implicated in cooperative and gold smuggling cases. He insisted on the implementation of recommendations put forth by the High-Level Probe Commission concerning the gold smuggling scandal, asserting that those found guilty must face the appropriate consequences.
These accusations from the CPN-UML Chief Whip add fuel to the already intense political climate in Nepal, raising concerns about potential destabilization efforts and the future of the current government.
