UML’s Suhang Nembang Widens Lead in Ilam-2 Constituency

Suhang Nembang of the Communist Party of Nepal (Unified Marxist-Leninist) has significantly increased his lead in the House of Representatives race for Ilam-2, now ahead by 3,754 votes. With 11,078 votes secured, Nembang has captured over 40% of the 27,614 valid votes counted to date, according to the Election Commission.

His closest competitor, Nepali Congress’s Dambar Bahadur Khadka, trails with 7,324 votes, approximately 26% of the valid count. Independent candidate Dakendra Singh Thegim Limbu is in third place with 6,901 votes, followed by Milan Limbu of the Rastriya Swatantra Party with 1,512 votes.

The Ilam-2 by-election, held last Saturday, saw a total voter turnout of 69,287 from an electorate of 115,889.
