UN Disarmament Chief, Izumi Nakamitsu, Holds Talks with Foreign Minister Saud

Today, Izumi Nakamitsu, the UN Under-Secretary-General and High Representative for Disarmament Affairs, paid a courtesy visit to Nepal’s Minister for Foreign Affairs, N P Saud, at his office.

The meeting addressed various crucial issues, with a primary focus on fostering collaboration for global peace and security. Both Nakamitsu and Saud explored ways to enhance the effectiveness of the United Nations Regional Centre for Peace and Disarmament in Asia and the Pacific (UNRCPD) to promote peace and stability in the region.
