Unified Socialist Central Leaders Granted Direct Delegate Status for General Convention

The CPN (Unified Socialist) has made a provision that the central leaders do not need to be approved by the lower-level cadres to become general convention delegates.

Jagannath Khatiwada, Head of the Central Publicity Department, said that a rule has been made to allow the Central Committee members to become convention delegates, as some leaders could not be elected due to the arrangement of elections from the lower units of the party.

Members of the central commission will also be selected as delegates along with the central leaders. Since the system of being elected from different constituencies and clusters has been maintained, representatives coming from particular constituencies and clusters must be approved by the lower-level workers.

One delegate will be selected for every 125 cadres, while Dalits, youth, and women will be proportionally represented. The 10th general convention of the party to select the new leadership is being held from June 30 to July 4.
