Well-organized army is the foundation of national security: COAS Sharma
Chief of Army Staff Prabhuram Sharma has said that a well-organized army is the foundation of national security of the country.
Inaugurating the conference of Nepal Army ex-service personnel here today at the Mid-east regional headquarters of NA, he said that if the army is strong the national security and interests of the country will be protected.
Sharma said that the main responsibility of the Nepal Army is to protect the independence, sovereignty and national unity of the country. “The Nepal army is ever ready to prepare itself according to the needs of the country and commitment, chain of command and unity are the strengths of the army”, he added.
Also speaking at the function, Chief Executive Officer of the Military Welfare Board, Gaurav Tandul, said that the conference at retired NA personnel and people on family pension provides a great opportunity for the reunion of ex-service men and women.
Around 2,000 former army personnel who are permanent residents of Mahottari, Dhanusha, Sarlahi, Sirha, Bara, Parsa, Rautahat and Saptari districts are participating in the conference organised by the Board.
