Why is Prime Minister Facing Heightened Discomfort?
Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ expressed growing unease during the half-yearly review program of the policy and program and budget implementation of the financial year 2080/081, held at Singha Durbar on Thursday.
Prime Minister Prachanda, who has been at the helm for the third time, voiced concern over the government’s failure to meet expectations, particularly in areas of good governance, social justice, and prosperity.
Prachanda’s ‘discomfort’ has increased due to the administration’s failure to meet expectations. He expressed concern that the government under his leadership was not functioning as expected.
“When I took over the leadership of the government for the third time, we strongly advocated for a renewed commitment to good governance, social justice, and prosperity. Initially, we progressed with great enthusiasm,” said the Prime Minister. “For almost a year, we were moving in the right direction. However, as we conduct this review, my unease has grown.”
The prime minister noted that not only himself but also the ministers, chief secretaries, and secretaries felt the unrest. “Has the unease of others also increased upon witnessing my growing discomfort? It seems the situation is not calm,” he said. “It has become more complex and challenging.” Numerous factors are at play.
From this statement by Prime Minister Prachanda, it is evident that the employee mechanism is not aligning with the Prime Minister’s directives. This indicates that work is not being executed in line with the government’s objectives, and the citizens are not receiving the services they deserve. Additionally, the Prime Minister himself acknowledged that there are several reasons contributing to the employees’ lack of productivity.
