Upendra Yadav Claims Unlawful Split in Janata Samajwadi Party During His Absence

Chairman of the Janata Samajwadi Party (JSP) Nepal, Upendra Yadav, on Wednesday accused certain party members of orchestrating an unconstitutional split in the party while he was abroad. Speaking at a press conference at the party’s central office in Balkumari, Yadav condemned the move, emphasizing that a legitimate party split cannot be recognized merely through minor gatherings.

“The party experienced an unconstitutional division during my absence, driven by the personal ambitions of a few,” Yadav stated. He criticized those who temporarily took over the leadership, accusing them of acting out of self-interest.

Yadav also pointed out flaws in the registration process of the splinter group, insisting that despite these challenges, the integrity and the journey of the original JSP-Nepal would continue, guided by legal and ethical standards.

During the press briefing, Yadav revealed that he had held discussions with Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda about the internal conflict within the party, clarifying that their conversation was solely focused on this issue without leading to further developments.

The internal rift in JSP-Nepal poses significant implications for the party’s stability and its role in Nepal’s dynamic political landscape.
