2,074 Voters with Total Weightage of 57,559 for NA Election on January 25

the Election Commission (EC) has officially approved the list of voters for the upcoming National Assembly (NA) election scheduled to take place on January 25. The endorsed list comprises 2,074 individuals, showcasing a diverse representation that includes 549 members of provincial assemblies and 1,498 Chairpersons and Vice-Chairpersons of Rural Municipalities, along with Mayors and Deputy Mayors of Municipalities.

However, the EC has identified nine individuals, including a deceased member of the provincial assembly, and eight Chairpersons and Vice-Chairpersons of Rural Municipalities and Municipalities, who will not be participating in the voting process due to various reasons, including death and suspension.

Anticipating the upcoming electoral event, the Election Commission is gearing up to release the final list of voters on January 7, providing transparency and clarity in the electoral process.

A crucial aspect of the NA election lies in the distribution of vote weightage among the participating individuals. Each provincial assembly member carries a significant vote weight of 53, emphasizing their influence in the electoral process. Additionally, the Chairman, Vice-Chairman, Mayor, and Deputy Mayor of the local level each hold a vote weight of 19. The cumulative vote weightage stands at an impressive 57,559, with provincial assembly members contributing 29,097 votes and local level leaders adding 28,462 to the overall count.

As the nation braces for this crucial democratic exercise, the approved voter list and the assigned vote weightage underscore the meticulous planning and organizational efforts put forth by the Election Commission to ensure a fair and representative National Assembly election on January 25.
