26-Day-Old Baby Reported Stolen, Police Launch Massive Hunt

A 26-day-old infant has been reported missing from the renowned Paropakar Maternity and Women’s Hospital in Thapathali, Kathmandu, colloquially known as Prasuti Griha. The disappearance occurred when a woman, standing in line, vanished along with the child, prompting speculation of a potential abduction.

Law enforcement agencies across Kathmandu, Lalitpur, and Bhaktapur districts, under the Valley Police jurisdiction, have launched an extensive search operation. Border controls from Kathmandu have been reinforced as part of the efforts to locate the missing infant. Additionally, authorities are intensifying the search for the unidentified woman captured on closed-circuit cameras.

Despite the operation commencing on Friday afternoon, law enforcement has yet to uncover any leads regarding the whereabouts of the infant or the individual suspected of involvement in the disappearance.

The infant, belonging to a family residing in Kavre, was reported stolen, as confirmed by police sources.
