3 More Detained, Including Chinese National, in Dolakha Gold Smuggling Case

Three more individuals have been apprehended in connection with the smuggling of 11 kilograms of gold recovered from Dolakha. The Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) of the police successfully arrested three suspects, including a Chinese national, in the Swayambhu area of Kathmandu.

SP Nawaraj Adhikari confirmed the arrests and stated that preparations are underway to transfer the detained individuals to the District Police Office Dolakha. It has come to light that among those arrested, Chinese nationals were involved in purchasing gold from China.

This case has already seen the detention of seven individuals earlier in the investigation. It has been disclosed that this smuggling network used a unique method of concealing gold within potato sacks to transport it across the Dolakha border. The recovery of 11 kilograms of gold was made over the course of three separate incidents.
