7 Earthquakes Strike Bajhang Today, Causing Injuries and Damage

Bajhang district experienced a series of seven earthquakes in a single day on Tuesday, with various epicenters causing tremors and anxiety among residents. As of the latest update, the most recent earthquake, measuring a magnitude of 5, struck at 5:38 p.m. local time.

The series of quakes began earlier in the day, shaking the region with varying magnitudes and timings. At 5:19 p.m., a magnitude 5 earthquake rattled the area, followed by a 4.3 magnitude quake at 4:31 p.m., a 4.1 magnitude tremor at 4:28 p.m., another 4.1 magnitude shock at 3:45 p.m., a powerful 6.3 magnitude quake at 3:06 p.m., and a magnitude 5.3 quake at 2:40 p.m.

These seismic events have not only impacted Bajhang but also reverberated in some neighboring districts in Far West, causing widespread concern and fear among residents.

Reports indicate that some houses in Bajhang have suffered damage due to the earthquakes, and there have been reports of ground fissures in certain areas. Bajhang district police have confirmed that 11 people have sustained injuries as a result of these tremors.

Fortunately, nine individuals with minor injuries have been treated and subsequently discharged from District Hospital Bajhang, while two women with broken hands are currently receiving medical care at the hospital’s emergency ward. Police sources have assured that both women are now in stable condition and out of immediate danger.
