Scale-up your performance, Minister Sharma directs line agencies

Minister of Communications and Information Technology Rekha Sharma has directed the line agencies to furnish their progress report in every month in the current fiscal year.

During the fourth quarterly and annual progress review of the last fiscal year and the problem resolutions committee meeting held Sunday at the Ministry, Minister Sharma directed the line agencies under the Ministry to submit their progress reports every month to complete the assigned tasks as per the planning.

Minister Sharma also asked the officials and line agencies to work with topmost gravity adding that expected results were not achieved despite the ongoing efforts.

The Ministry will assist in law making process and coordination with the Office of the Prime Minister but six sectors and 18 line agencies under the Ministry should work in a concrete way, Sharma added.

Saying that new working style should be embraced in the current fiscal year, Minister Sharma called for moving with a clear vision on prioritizing information technology in the 16th periodic plan and advancement of the Digital Nepal Framework.

Likewise, Minister Sharma said that the top priority of the government is to maintain good-governance and transparency and urged the agencies to make plans only that are doable.

Minister Sharma’s concern was also on fully implementation of the budget.

Also speaking at the event, National Planning Commission Member Anita Shah Dhungana suggested that something more should be done for the accessibility of Nagarik App.

She also stated that reward and punishment should be ensured for better performance.

Secretary at the Ministry Krishna Bahadur Raut said that Rastriya Samachar Samiti, Radio Nepal and some other agencies spent their entire budget and added it was unfortunate that some other agencies failed to spend the allocated budget.

On the occasion, RSS Chairman Dharmendra Jha sought the Ministry’s support for running the RSS news service for 24 hours.

Chairman of Nepal Television Samir Jung Shah, Chairman of Gorkhapatra Corporation Bishnu Prasad Subedi, Executive Director of Radio Nepal Buddhi Bahadur KC, Chairman of Advertisement Board Laxman Humagain and others shared about their agencies’ progress, performance and challenges.
