Five Individuals, Including Ex-Simraungadh CAO Implicated in Corruption Case
The Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) has taken legal action against five individuals, including the former Chief Administrative Officer of Bara Simraungad Municipality.
CIAA Spokesperson Bhola Dahal made the announcement on Sunday, revealing that the Authority has filed a corruption case against these individuals in the Special Court.
The accused parties in this case have been identified as Chief Administrative Officer Bishwaraj Marasini, Accounts Officer Sarmendra Prasad Chaudhary, President of the Building Construction Committee of Janata High School, Ram Babu Prasad Yadav, Secretary Ramakanta Prasad, and Treasurer Kiran Devi Yadav.
The allegations against them pertain to financial irregularities during the construction of the Janata High School building in Simraungarh Municipality-8, Kachorwa.
According to spokesperson Dahal, the investigation has revealed that Chief Administrative Officer Marasini and Accounts Officer Sarmendra Prasad Chaudhary approved payments that exceeded the amounts specified in the project’s evaluation and payment notes prepared by the technician.
These actions are alleged to have resulted in the misappropriation of government funds, leading to a financial loss of Rs 6,58,440. The case will now be pursued in the Special Court.
