139th Birth Anniversary of Phalgunanda: President, Vice President, and PM Extend Best Wishes
On the occasion of the 139th birth anniversary of Mahaguru Phalgunanda, a revered religious leader of the Kirat community, President Ram Chandra Paudel, Vice President Ram Sahay Prasad Yadav, and Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ have extended their heartfelt messages of best wishes.
In their separate messages, the nation’s leaders commended the teachings of Mahaguru Phalgunanda for advocating social reforms and dispelling social superstitions. President Paudel acknowledged Phalgunanda’s role as a social reformer, emphasizing the exemplary nature of his teachings in fostering societal change.
“May the celebrations of Phalgunanda Jayanti inspire all of us to nurture patience within ourselves and contribute to the promotion of social goodwill, non-violence, and social reforms,” remarked President Paudel.
Vice President Yadav highlighted the broader significance of Phalgunanda’s ideologies, stating that they are not only relevant to the Kirat religion and culture but also offer valuable guidelines for the entire Nepali society and other religious communities.
Prime Minister Prachanda emphasized Phalgunanda’s substantial contributions to the identity and preservation of Kirat religion and cultures. He underscored the universality of Phalgunanda’s teachings, asserting that the social and cultural essence of his reforms holds relevance for all religions, communities, and societies.
The birth anniversary celebrations of the national luminary Phalgunanda are especially observed in the eastern districts of Nepal, including Panchthar, Taplejung, Ilam, and Jhapa. The leaders encouraged the public to reflect on Phalgunanda’s teachings and work towards fostering patience, social goodwill, and non-violence for the betterment of society at large.
