CIAA moves Special Court against nine individuals
The Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) has moved the Special Court against nine individuals including the then deputy mayor and the chief administrative officer of the Ramdhuni municipality in Sunsari district.
They are alleged of financial irregularities in the payment for a road construction project. Municipality’s the then deputy mayor Sani Kumari Chaudhary, chief administrative officer Omkar Prasad Neupane, account officer Dwarika Prasad Dahal, engineer Devendra Narayan Chaudhary and sub-engineer Harshalal Chaudhary face the charges of misappropriation of funds, CIAA Spokesperson Bhola Dahal said.
The CIAA has sought imprisonment and fines against them in accordance with the Clause 19 (2) of the Prevention of Corruption Act-2059 BS (2002).
Likewise, Ramdhuni municipality-3 ward chair Raj Kumar Chaudhary, ward member Tikalaxmi Shrestha, Planning Section employee Sunil Kumar Chaudhary and Jalpa Sidhha Construction Service, Pakali’s proprietor Nanu Kumari Niraula also face the charge in the same case.
