MoFA Extends Deadline for IFA Executive Director Position Applications

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) has decided to extend the deadline for additional applications for the position of Executive Director at the Institute of Foreign Affairs (IFA). The move comes after a disappointing response to the initial notice, with only five candidates applying and only one meeting the minimum qualification criteria.

Sources within the MoFA indicate that the decision to extend the deadline by seven days was made during a meeting of the Selection and Recommendation Committee, which was convened specifically for the appointment of the IFA Executive Director. The committee, responsible for shortlisting and recommending candidates for the prestigious position, found that the number of qualified applicants fell short of the minimum requirement.

As per the existing procedure, the committee is mandated to recommend at least three individuals for the position. However, due to the limited number of qualified candidates in the initial round of applications, the MoFA deemed it necessary to extend the application deadline to attract a more diverse and qualified pool of candidates.

This marks the second issuance of the application notice, and the Selection and Recommendation Committee has called for applications based on the same criteria as the previous announcement. The decision reflects the ministry’s commitment to ensuring a thorough and competitive selection process for the crucial role of Executive Director at the Institute of Foreign Affairs. Prospective candidates now have an additional seven days to submit their applications and be considered for this significant position within the esteemed institute.
