Bimala Ghimire of CPN (UML) Elected Vice Chair of National Assembly

Bimala Ghimire, representing the CPN (UML), has clinched the position of Vice Chair of the National Assembly (NA) in a session held on Wednesday. Ghimire secured 39 votes in favor out of the 55 members present, while 16 votes were cast against her candidacy.
Her opponent from the Nepali Congress (NC), Bishnu Devi Pudasaini, received 16 votes in support, with 39 votes against her.
NA Chairman Narayan Prasad Dahal officially declared Ghimire’s victory, acknowledging her majority win in the election.
Ghimire’s nomination was put forth by lawmaker Bhagawati Neupane and seconded by lawmaker Gopi Bahadur Sarki Achhami.
