Sandeep Thanks Supporters, Urges Ignoring False Propaganda, Pledges to Fulfill Nepali Cricket Dreams
Cricketer Sandeep Lamichhane, who recently joined the Nepali team for the ongoing ICC Men’s T20 World Cup, expressed gratitude towards those who facilitated his participation, despite initial visa setbacks. Lamichhane, who flew to the West Indies on Sunday night, took to social media to extend his thanks to various individuals, including Chatur Bahadur Chand, the president of the Nepal Cricket Association (CAN), and legal representatives who aided in his case.
In a heartfelt post on Facebook, Lamichhane acknowledged the efforts of CAN officials and legal advisors, emphasizing their dedication in ensuring his journey to the World Cup. He particularly highlighted the contributions of President Chand, Secretary Paras Khadka, lawyer Saroj K Ghimire, Binod Das, Prabal Gautam, and Balkrishna Lamichhane in coordinating with the International Cricket Council (ICC) for his participation.
However, amidst his expressions of gratitude, Lamichhane addressed the negative commentary circulating regarding the visa application process. He refuted allegations suggesting negligence on the part of President Chand and Secretary Khadka, urging the public not to succumb to false propaganda tarnishing the image of CAN and Nepali cricket.
Lamichhane’s remarks come in response to claims that the US Embassy in Nepal denied him a visa, purportedly due to a lack of initiative from CAN officials. Dismissing these accusations, he reassured supporters that the organization had played a positive role in his endeavors.
Asserting his commitment to the Nepali team, Lamichhane disclosed his participation in the upcoming matches in the West Indies. He pledged to dedicate his efforts to realizing the aspirations of Nepali cricket enthusiasts, vowing to deliver his best performance on the international stage.
