Youths should be diligent for the nation: PM Oli
Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has said youths should be diligent for the country and people.
Addressing a function organised to mark the 113th birth anniversary of Yug Kabi Siddhicharan Shrestha here today, Prime Minister Oli mentioned that to become diligent when necessary for the country and people is natural, referring to the creations of Siddhicharan that inspired the youths to join the revolution.
The Prime Minister said he is ideologically and literary influenced from Siddhicharan, “He is my teacher. I am much influenced by Siddhicharan.”
“Many youths joined the revolution and were ready to become martyrs drawing inspiration from the songs written by Siddhicharan. I was also involved in revolution due to this”, PM Oli stressed.
The programme was organised by Yugkabi Siddhicharan Foundation where Yug kabi Siddhicharan award was presented to Prof Dr Usha Thakur.
The award carries a purse of Rs 100,000.
Likewise, Okhaldhunga correspondent for Nepal Television, Nabaraj Karki, received Yug Kavi Siddhicharan Youth Journalism Award. The award carries a purse of Rs 40,000.
On the occasion, two creations published by the Foundation- ‘Yug Kabi Siddhicharan Ka Gadya Kabita’ and ‘Bigyaka Drishtima Yug Kabi’ were released.
The birth anniversary of Siddhicharan is celebrated on Jetha 9 every year in the lunar calendar, but this year it is celebrated today as it was postponed after the demise of Siddhicharan’s daughter.
The programme was chaired by Foundation chair poet Bairagi Kainla where various senior personalities including Foundation patron Rabicharan Shrestha were present.
