Arrival of tourists at CNP increased last year
Arrival of tourists at Chitwan National Park has increased last fiscal year 2023/24 as compared to previous fiscal year 2022/23.
A total of 306,837 tourists visited the park in the last fiscal year while it was 299,412 in the previous fiscal year.
Information Officer at the Park, Ganesh Prasad Tiwari, said total 274,299 tourists had entered the Park from Sauraha area in the last fiscal year while the number was 271,731 in the previous fiscal year.
Likewise, 27,956 tourists visited the Park via Bharatpur metropolis in the fiscal year 2023/24 against 23,257 in the fiscal year 2022/23.
Tourism expert at Bharatpur metropolitan city, Bishwa Subedi, shared that the number of tourists visiting the Park increased due to publicity of Chitwan Visit Year in national and international level.
Religious programmes, Devghatdham festival, jungle safari mart, marathon would be organised in order to attract foreign tourists, he added. Diyalo Bangla has been opened for the public on the occasion of Chitwan Visit Year, which has become a new tourism destination for tourists.
