150 Dead in Weather-Related Disasters Across the Country This Rainy Season
This rainy season, weather-related disasters, including floods and landslides, have claimed the lives of 150 people across the country. According to the Central Police News Room, the casualties are distributed as follows: three in Kathmandu Valley, 25 in Koshi Province, six in Madhesh, 29 in Bagmati, 42 in Gandaki, 27 in Lumbini, eight in Karnali, and ten in the Far West.
In addition to the fatalities, 49 people are reported missing, and 177 people have sustained injuries due to these disasters. Authorities have successfully rescued 180 individuals.
Floods have inundated 384 houses, and a total of 4,219 families have been displaced since the start of the rainy season in Jestha 2081 BS. The ongoing relief efforts are focused on providing shelter and assistance to the displaced families and addressing the extensive damage caused by the severe weather conditions.
