Education Minister Bidya Bhattarai Vows to End Hooliganism in Universities
Minister for Education, Science, and Technology, Bidya Bhattarai, has firmly stated that there will be no political protection for hooliganism in universities. Speaking to the media at Bharatpur airport this morning, Minister Bhattarai emphasized the urgent need to control violent activities occurring in academic institutions.
Addressing recent incidents at Tribhuvan University (TU), she clarified that what happened was not a political issue but rather disruptive behavior that must be addressed. The Minister revealed that security forces had been requested from the Home Minister to manage the situation at TU.
Minister Bhattarai strongly condemned the destructive activities and criminal behavior within universities, stating, “Gangsters and thugs must be tamed by ensuring they receive no political protection for their actions.” She made it clear that such behavior is unacceptable in academic settings and that strict measures will be taken to prevent it.
