Madhesh Province: Chief Minister, Three ministers take oath
Madhesh Province Chief Minister-elect Saroj Kumar Yadav took an oath of office and secrecy.
Province Chief Hari Shankar Mishra administered the oath to newly elected Chief Minister amidst a ceremony on the premises of the Office of the Province Chief. The Chief Minister took the oath in the Bhojpuri language.
Similarly, three ministers without portfolio appointed on the recommendation of the Chief Minister took oath today itself.
They are CPN (UML)’s Saroj Kumar Yadav, Janata Samajbadi Party’s Sanjay Yadav and Janamat Party’s Basant Prasad Kusahawa.
Yadav was appointed on the post on Wednesday with the support of 63 Province Assembly members. It is said the Loktantrik Samajbadi Party will be supporting him. If the party backs him, he will have the support of 72 members as the party has nine members in the Madhes Province Assembly.
JSP’s central chair Upendra Yadav, JSP parliamentary leader for the Federal Parliament, Ram Sahaya Prasad Yadav, CPN (Maoist Centre)’s general secretary Dev Gurung and government officials were among those present on the occasion.
